Dear SBTC Community,
Seven years ago we embarked on a journey to develop Olympic-level Track & Field athletes and leverage their dedication to the sport to inspire generations of athletes through our Youth Track Club. Thanks to the generous support of a handful of donors, including our host, Westmont College, we were able to launch in the fall of 2012.
Over these seven years, we have had over 500 youth athletes participate in at least one of our three Youth TC seasons (winter/spring, summer & fall) and engaged hundreds of others through meets, special events, and school visits. These athletes have been coached the fundamentals of athletics, the building blocks of every sport, by world-class athletes, including Barbara Nwaba, who became the SBTC’s first Olympic athlete and USA National Champion.
Over the last two years, thanks to generous private support we have also been able to expand our Elite roster to include three NCAA Champions and two Olympians. This has propelled our organization to continue to be respected nationally and internationally, with athletes and teams from around the world visiting Santa Barbara for their early-season training and related athlete exchanges.
