COMPETITION FLOW
Athletes will be seeded into LANED RACES based on personal best or recent performances listed on TFRRS or World Athletics. Two Long Jump runways, two Shot Put rings and two High Jump pits will be utilized if field sizes are large. Each subsequent event will begin a minimum of 30 minutes after both flights have concluded competition. Two discus rings and two Pole Vault runways are available if the decathlon field requires it. One Javelin runway will be utilized on day two of the decathlon and heptathlon and broken into two flights if necessary. Multiple sections of the 800 meters will be run in the heptathlon 800.
COMPETITION REGISTRATION
Registration will take place on Direct Athletics and will be open on Wednesday, February 14th. Registration will close on Friday, March 15th.
COMPETITION ENTRY FEES
Entry fees will be due prior to the start of competition. Entry fees will not be paid through
Direct Athletics, and can be made on site at Westmont. Please make entry fee checks out to Santa Barbara Track Club. Entries are $125 per athlete. Full entry fee is due prior to the start of the competition, and may be made beginning on Tuesday, March 19th and going through Thursday March 21, before the first event. All athletes will receive a competition meet shirt.
COMPETITION IMPLEMENTS & CERTIFICATION
A limited number of throwing implements will be provided. Athletes are welcome to use implements on site, but are encouraged to bring their own. Decathletes not traveling with pole vault poles are also encouraged to make arrangements ahead of time. Implement certification will take place on DAY ONE for both days of competition. Coaches and athletes can drop implements off beginning Tuesday, March 21st. Please clearly mark your implements. Implement certification will take place from 8:00am - 11:00am on Thursday March 23rd.
SELECT EVENT ATHLETES:
A limited number of Elite Athletes will be allowed to compete in “Select Events” during the competition. To maintain the integrity of the meet there will be a very limited number of “Select” athletes permitted at the discretion of meet management. Any athlete interested must contact Derek Masterson / dmasterson@wetmont.edu ahead of time.
HOTEL INFORMATION
The suggested Klein / Nwaba Meet Hotel is the Best Western, located in Carpinteria, CA. Carpinteria is approximately 10 miles south of Westmont’s campus. There are a number of dining options near the hotel located on Linden Avenue in downtown Carpinteria.
